Chair 33/3300, Bruno Rey, Dietiker/Kusch+Co

Designed by Bruno Rey in 1971, the Model 33/3300 chair was originally produced by Dietiker in Switzerland and later under license by Kusch+Co in Germany. It introduced a groundbreaking construction method: the first patented wood-to-metal connection without visible screws or bolts. Today, the design is widely known as the Rey Chair following its recent reissue by HAY. However, these pieces are vintage originals.

This chair feature a distinctive red lacquered frame, with the natural grain of the beechwood subtly visible through the finish. The seats are upholstered in a wool-like fabric with a mottled pattern in lighter and darker shades of brown. They retain their original cast aluminium brackets underneath the seat, showing the characteristic deep burgundy/purple hue typical of early production.

Constructed from solid beechwood with a moulded beech plywood seat and backrest, the chairs are stackable and known for their durability and comfort.

In good vintage condition, with signs of use consistent with their age, including some wear to the wood, as well as small marks to the upholstery. Please review the photos carefully, as they form part of the description.
