Designed in 1965 by Elio Martinelli, the Serpente lamp is a true icon of Italian Space Age lighting. Its black lacquered metal base and gracefully curved arm support a large white methacrylate dome diffuser that casts a soft and even light. The 180° rotating shade allows the light to be directed as desired.

The lamp shows signs of age and use: the white methacrylate shade shows surface scratches and scuff marks, mainly along the lower edge. The black lacquered metal base and arm show some scratches. The lamp has been tested and is in full working condition.
